Herbert Corthell

Herbert Corthell was born on January 20, 1878 in Boston, Massachusetts, USA as Joseph Bertram Corthell. He was married to Marion Corthell, and they had 1 child; a son named Edmund. Herbert passed away on January 23, 1947 in Hollywood, California, USA.

Herbert was an actor (35 films, from 1913-1944), known for The Man in Blue (1937), Duke of the Navy (1942), and Sleepy Lagoon (1943). In his last stage appearance he played Teddy Brewster (Chaaaaarrrge!) in "Arsenic and Old Lace".

Herbert had also appeared in numerous Broadway musical comedies. He was primarily a musical comedy performer on Broadway, he later played Irish cops on film.
